Scott & Maureen met Sally and me in Williamsburg Sunday afternoon. We toured Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown. In case your history is rusty, Jamestown was the first permanent English settlement on this continent, and the first Thanksgiving was celebrated in Virginia at Berkley Plantation not far up the James River, not Plymouth. Williamsburg was the first capitol of Virginia, and of course Yorktown was the place where the battle took place that virtually ended the Revolutionary War. Photo is Sally, Scott & Maureen in front of a statue of Pocahontas.

Thanks for the posting, Mike. Nice picture. Looks like it was pretty chilly that day. It was hot the day we were there. I don't remember what year it was.

Good photo! As I remember Jamestown, there wasn't much there, but some foundations. Now Williamsburg was fun and had many restored buildings. It was warm when we went as well. Lot's of history around those parts!
